Mrs. Nordgren taught kindergarten, first, and second grades in public school before coming to HCES. She served as a substitute teacher for her first four years plus two six-week terms as a kindergarten substitute. She was then invited to teach 2nd grade for half a year before taking her present position in the kindergarten, which she has enjoyed since 2002.
As the morning and afternoon kindergarten teacher, she enjoys the opportunity and challenge of teaching children the educational foundation for reading, math, and other basic skills through a variety of creative and fun methods. Students study phonics throughout the year so when they leave kindergarten they will know how to read and write cursive. They will also have a firm grasp on a variety of math and science concepts. Bible is incorporated into all aspects of the children's learning and development.
